Learning and Teaching the Lean Production Practice: Russian Coatings Took Part in the 4th Russian Lean Forum

The representatives of Russian Coatings participated in the 4th Russian Lean Forum “The Lean Russia: Strategy of Efficiency”, which took place on November 9-10, 2009, in Moscow.

The companies that met at the Forum with the aim to exchanging an advanced experience were the leaders of companies constantly developing and improving their production systems with the use of lean tools, e.g. Irkut Corporation, Sberbank (Saving Bank), Boeing Russia, Sukhoy Airline, KAMAZ Corporation, Toyota Motor, TMC-group; and also the leading experts in the field of production system development from USA, Europe and Russia: Bryane Maskell,  Michael Wader, Yury Adler; as well as the leaders of McKinsey & Company and of Business Russia public organization.

The speech of Valeriy Abramov, CEO of Russian Coatings, stirred up a great interest of the participants. As organizers of the event told (Centre Orgprom LLC), Russian Coatings is the only company in the Russian Federation where strategic planning based on Hosin Kanri’s method is used so extensively. This strategic planning has been given an important place in the report devoted to the development of Russian Coatings production system.

In the framework of Forum, the leaders and owners have managed to acquaint themselves with up-to-date concept and strategies of development of production systems, which form the foundation for efficient manufacture. Besides there were active discussions of possible models of cooperation between the state and business aimed on wide spreading of the Lean Production practice.
