DuPont Color-Show for SOLLERS

At the beginning of April 2009 Joint Venture DuPont Russian Coatings hold a seminar – presentation of its color palette and its facilities in the sphere of development and implementation of automotive coatings. The event was attended by SOLLERS managers and specialists (Naberezhniye Chelny and Elabuga) involved in production and development of coating technologies.

The main objective of the delegates and participants of this meeting was to consider and discuss tendencies for color preference change of potential car buyers and also to get acquainted with different materials and coating technologies improvement perspectives taking place in the world with the support of DuPont.

The participants were demonstrated examples of automotive basecoat colors divided into groups specially selected to be shown what colors buyers choose depending on their ways of life, characters and many other reasons. According to annual research made by DuPont, the most popular colors are silver and black, but designers and developers continue to satiate the color chart for vehicles with new colors and coating effects.

The participants got acquainted with basecoats colors developed in DuPont Russian Coatings Technical Center. In the opinion of the designers, these colors will do for coating cars produced in Naberezhniye Chelny and Elabuga in the best way. The voting results show that participants gave preference to colors of red and silver ranges.

«We produce good cars and we do it well, said Roman Gan, production manager of SOLLERS - Naberezhniye Chelny, but beyond all doubt, acquaintances with new technologies, exchange of experience with partners-suppliers, among them in the sphere of coating technologies, are rather interesting for us because we understand that mutual collaboration aimed at development is a guarantee of excellent quality».

At the end of the event the delegates and participants agreed upon further development of scientific and technical cooperation based on core values of both companies.

Joint Venture DuPont Russian Coatings was created by DuPont and Russkie Kraski in 2006 for development and localization of advanced technology automotive coatings production, rendering quality technical service to automotive plants located in Russia and CIS countries.

SOLLERS is a Russian automotive company. It owns sites for manufacturing Russian UAZ off-road vehicles in Ulianovsk, petrol and diesel engines at the site in Zavolzhie, and also SsangYong off-road vehicles, FIAT passenger and commercial vehicles which are manufactured at the sites in Naberezhniye Chelny and Elabuga.
