Quality system

As the company "Russian coatings" is the leader in the manufacture of paintwork materials, it makes the plant’s employees to devote themselves constantly to the product quality increase.

Quality policy

The quality policy is the basis of the plant’s operation, the main aim of which is to establish the constant growth due to the promotion of high-tech production, which in turn is both price and quality competitive.

Quality management system

Complex system of production quality management was launched into the plant’s operation in 1978. However, that time the laws of market economy demanded advanced ways of solving a problem and further modernization of the existing quality system. That’s why the decision to implement the quality management system on the basis of MS ISO 9000 was made.

In 1999 the quality management system on the basis of MS ISO 9001:1994 and GOST R ISO 9001:1996 was developed, implemented and certified.

In 2002 the quality management system and the ecological management system successfully completed the certification in relation with requirements of MS ISO 9001:2000 and MS ISO 14001:1996 in the Russian Sea Register of Navigation, the department of certification (St. Petersburg).

Moreover, the certificates of accordance № 02.065.026 from May 14th 2002 and № ROSS RU. IS08.K00072 from May 20th 2002 prove that the quality management system of “Russian coatings” plc connected with the elaboration, manufacture and retailing of paintwork materials is in accordance to the requirements of ISO 9001:2001 and GOST R ISO 9001-2001.

The use of the quality management system provides the ability for the administration of organizational, commercial and technical activity of the plant and guarantees the satisfaction of customers’ requirements in a given time period and in full amount.

Certification

The actions of the plant in the quality process are certified.

The certification consists of:

• Quality instructions
• 54 standards of the enterprise in quality management system (STP SK)
• Methods and techniques.

There are representatives responsible for the quality management in each plant department, who steer the institution of quality there. The special attention is put forward to the staff training and education with regards to the quality management. The employees of every echelon of power: including the board members and new workers are trained in a specific way.

There are the Guide for new employees, the Guide for existing workers and the Guide concerning the quality management for administrators and specialists where one can find the quality traditions of Russian coatings; the principles of management system in relation to MS ISO 9001; the main ideas of quality, the possible ways of solving the problems and awards in the quality management.

Highly qualified specialists in the quality management

Zavjalov V.N., the vice-president of quality department, and Propiscova O.P., the administrator of system management, have undertaken the 3-year course in DGQ Company and have obtained certificates of DGQ (German group of quality) and EOQ (European group of quality) auditors.

In order to get a consultation concerning the quality management problems, the representatives of various companies in Yaroslavl and other Russian regions such as: Yarpolimermasch, Zagorskiy paintwork materials plant, YZTA, Freeteks, Slavneft, SZHD, Yartelekom, Balkan star, Zavolzhskiy motor plant, Borskiy glasswork plant, etc. – constantly refer to our specialists.

For the purpose of support, effective functioning and constant rejuvenation of quality management system the group of internal auditors (39 employees) have been created.

Achievements

Since 1995 the plant have been a regular challenger in the regional contest for the best effort in the quality promotion.

The plant has been a contender in this contest for three times.

• In 1998 our plant have received a Prizewinner title together with the official sign of honor.
• In 2002 Russian coatings plc repeated its success of the previous years.
• In 2003 the plant became a leader among two-times prizewinners of the regional quality premium.

Self-value

Since 2000 the process of self-value of the enterprise’s operation according to the requirements of ‘Prize Models of the Russian Federation Government in the quality management’ have been utilized.

• In 2001 Russian coatings plc became a contender of such prestigious contest.
• In 2002 it became a prizewinner of the quality contest directed by the Russian Government.
• Since 2002 the process of self-value of the enterprise operation according to the quality requirements based on the ‘Prize Models of the Russian Federation Government in the quality management’ have been undertaken.

Improvement

In 2002 the quality management system of the enterprise was automated with the help of the program complex TRIM-QM. This complex assists in resolving the following problems:

• Analysis of the quality management system and the system of ecological management by the highest echelons of power
• Certification administration
• Registration and analysis of the results of internal audits of the quality management system and the system of ecological management.

In 2003 the work relating to the elaboration of OHSAS 18001 and its integration into the quality system has begun.
