The church of John the Baptiser on the right bank of the river Kotorosl (right near Russian Coatings Corp’s building wall) is more than three hundred years old. A unique church with fifteen cupolas has become à  symbol of Russia nowadays, its picture has decorated a one thousand  roubles note of 1997.

The church, which is unique in Russian architecture, was built by the whole community. Tolchkovaya Sloboda dwellers including workers from Vakhrameyevs’ plant donated a considerable sum of money to erect and to decorate the church. Nowadays the church of John the Baptiser is on in the list of Russian cultural monuments which are recommended to be visited by international organization UNESCO. The church has become a kind of Russian Coatings Corp.’s symbol, its emblem and guardian.
